There will be five shows total on Cedarbrook’s lush Evergreen Lawn this summer, and tickets are just $20 in advance or $25 at the door. And concertgoers interested in attending all performances can purchase admission to four concerts and receive the fifth free!
“The Seattle summer unofficially begins after Independence Day, and we’re celebrating that with the start of our jazz concert series,” said Scott Ostrander, general manager of Cedarbrook Lodge. “The fun and casual atmosphere on our lawn will be a real treat for our guests.”
You’ll be able to enjoy music from a variety of local jazz bands, each showcasing a different genre, including gypsy, afro-Cuban, modern and contemporary, as well as an evening with a bluegrass group, on Cedarbrook’s lush lawn.
The Jazz on the Lawn lineup includes:
July 6th: Pearl Django – Gypsy Jazz
Enjoy original compositions by the members of this Seattle instrumental quintet.
July 20th: Downtown Mountain Boys – Bluegrass
Three-part harmonies with bass, banjo, fiddle, guitar, mandolin and vocals blend to form a memorable bluegrass experience.
August 3rd: Sonando – Afro-Cuban Jazz
Experience a variety of Afro-Cuban jazz repertoire, including Son, Changui, Bata and Rumba, as well as signature Latin styles.
August 17th: Human Spirit – Modern Jazz
Redefining modern jazz in Seattle and the Pacific Northwest, this trumpet, sax and drum trio performs an assortment of exciting tunes.
August 31st: Michael Gullo – Contemporary Jazz
A rising star on the contemporary jazz vocal scene, Michael Gullo’s distinct style, arrangements and compositions are a unique blend of classic and contemporary jazz.
Each concert will take place, weather permitting, on Cedarbrook’s Evergreen Lawn from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. with a selection of gourmet small plates and local wines and beers available from Copperleaf’s cash bar.
Tickets for the concerts are available from Brown Paper Tickets and are $20 advance or $25 at the door. Additionally, those interested in attending all performances can purchase admission to four concerts and receive the fifth free.
