Will YOU Adopt this Friendly Dog? He’s ‘Cute as the Dickens’

Des Moines Master Animal Control Officer Jan Magnuson wants our Readers to consider adopting ‘Dickens’ (pictured above), found roaming around North Hill with no ID.

“This friendly guy is “as cute as the Dickens” so that is what we have named him!” Jan told The Waterland Blog.

No one has come forward yet to claim Dickens, so he needs a new home.

He is a male Cairn Terrier type (“Toto” dog), is silver/brown with black and is about 2 years of age.

He passed his behavior evaluation with flying colors, he is happy and friendly and full of life!

He will be vet examined, vaccinated, micro-chipped and neutered on Thursday 082312 so will be ready for his new “forever” home on Friday, Aug. 24.

If you’re interested in having a Dickens of a new friend, please contact Jan at (206) 870-6549, (206) 878-3301 or via email at [email protected].

I just adore these little terrier mixes… but have several dogs of my own. Darn, sure would like a cutie like him around though! Hope he finds his forever home soon.

Glad Graddon, Wieland and Arrico didn’t get to him first! Good Job on the safe capture and rescue Jan!

I’ve met this dog, and while he’s not quite right for my home, he is in excellent health and has a great personality. He will make someone very happy!

Here is another example of a good deed being accomplished by one of our blue defence force. Rerealy do we see or hear about the good things our police do, quietly and without notice most of the time. This little dog need a home and we have one already who is not willing to share his home. To the one who takes in this creature, I will gladly pick up the tab for a collar or harness, tether and a years supply of “poop bags”. You, someone out there, as you read this, do not let another night go by with Dickens spending it alone.

  6. Donna says:

Somehow get Dickens around children! They are the movers and the shakers in influencing their parents to adopt this sweet dog!

  7. Donna says:

Jan, if you’re still teaching your dog training classes, take Dickens to one of these. Exposure is everything: location, location, location.

  8. Pat Nardo says:

Please, someone, anyone, tell us you have given this worthy animal a forever home!
