40-Year Old Man Found Shot in Des Moines Early Monday Morning

Monday morning (Oct. 29) at 12:20 a.m., the Des Moines Police Department responded to a ‘shots fired’ call at the parking lot of the Value-Inn Motel, located at 22246 Pacific Hwy South.

When officers arrived they did not locate anyone in the parking lot, but witnesses in the motel verified that shots had been fired.

A few minutes later, officers received another 911 call from a private residence just north of the motel where a 40-year old male shooting victim was located with three gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he arrived in stable condition. At this point, the victim is only telling investigators he had an argument with the suspect in the parking lot when the shots were fired.

Witnesses at the scene are telling investigators they observed a white Jeep type vehicle leave the location just after the shots were fired.

Police have no further suspect information but are confident this was not a random act of violence.

Des Moines Police are investigating this incident to determine what lead to the altercation and shooting.
