State Patrol Seeking Witnesses to Fiery I-5 Semi-truck Fatality Collision
Washington State Patrol detectives are looking for witnesses to the fiery I-5 fatality collision that happened early Sunday morning near Federal Way (read our previous coverage here).
Early Sunday morning, Nov. 4, 2012, a three vehicle collision occurred that resulted in the death of a semi-truck driver on southbound I-5 near 336th Street in Federal Way.
The collision is under investigation and detectives are asking anyone who may have seen the collisions or observed the vehicles involved prior to the collision to contact Detective Russ Haake at (425) 401-7717
Just before 2:30 a.m. in the morning a black Nissan Altima was traveling on southbound I-5 just south of S. 320th when the driver lost control and struck the guardrail on the west side of I-5.
The Altima was then struck by a tan Toyota Camry.
The Altima was in lane two when it was struck by a tanker truck and trailer loaded with aviation fuel.
The semi-truck, badly damaged in the collision, left the freeway to the west, traveled down the embankment and struck the sound wall, breaking the wall down and rolling over.
The driver of the semi truck did not survive.
