Vehicular Homicide Suspect Pleads ‘Not Guilty’ in Nov. 10 Fatal High Speed Crash

Yichun Xu was arraigned Thursday morning (Dec. 6) and pleaded ‘not guilty’ to charges of vehicular homicide and vehicular assault for a collision in Des Moines on Nov. 10, according to the King County Prosecutor’s website.

Xu, 19, allegedly drove through a stop sign at a high rate of speed and collided with a car driven by Brenda Gomez, who died from her injuries on November 19.

The defendant is charged with one count of Vehicular Homicide, three counts of Vehicular Assault and two counts of Reckless Endangerment.

The collision seriously injured three family members who were passengers in Gomez’s car. Passengers in the defendant’s car received minor injuries.

The defendant remains in jail on $2 million bail.

A case setting hearing is scheduled for Dec. 18 at the Maleng Regional Justice Center.

    There is no allegedly to him running through that stop sign.

    The allegedly is the city of Des Moines actually doing something about speeders on 20th Ave. S!
