Highline MaST Center’s FREE ‘Science on the Sound’ Starts Saturday

Highline Community College’s Marine Science and Technology (MaST) Center [1] will be holding it FREE ‘Science on the Sound’ events, with the first being this Saturday, Jan. 12.

This week’s presentation will be by Uko Gorter, president of the American Cetacean Society/Puget Sound Chapter, presenting, “The Marine Mammals of Puget Sound.”

“Science on the Sound hosts local, regional and national experts each month to discuss issues relevant to the Puget Sound,” reads an announcement. “The MaST’s mission is to promote understanding, appreciation and preservation of the marine environment through hands-on research, education and community activities that highlight the beauty, complexity and importance of the South Puget Sound ecosystem. Presentations are scheduled for noon on the first Saturday of each month, except for holiday weekends.”

These events are free and open to the public.
