Extra Shuttle will ease parking during busy Saturday in Des Moines

With this Saturday shaping up to be an incredibly busy day in Des Moines, with four big events going on – Pancake Feed, Des Moines Waterfront Farmers Market, Classic Car & Wooden Boat Show at the Marina and the Waterland Parade downtown – it has just been announced that an extra shuttle will be making rounds to ease the parking situation.

To make getting down to the Marina a little easier, organizers have arranged for the Des Moines Senior Center shuttle bus to provide FREE transportation. This means you can park once and attend the marina events without the hassle.

The Farmers Market will be somewhat smaller with some vendors at the Marina Office area, just south of the Food Court. The events start at 8am and go to 3pm in the marina. The Parade starts at 5:45pm with the children’s parade. The shuttle route is between 227th (Red Robin) and 219th (QFC).

To catch a ride to the events, just “wave down” the driver for a ride to your next stop.

The shuttle bus is scheduled to run from 9:45am to 3:30pm.
