It’s snowing out! But don’t expect it to stick around…

It’s snowing in Des Moines Saturday night, and the National Weather Service says we can expect a total nighttime snow accumulation of less than one inch.

Don’t get too excited though kids, as it will likely turn to rain on Sunday, when a high of 41 is expected, then stay wet through the entire week.

  • Tonight: Snow. Low around 32. East wind 6 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Total nighttime snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
  • Sunday: A chance of rain and snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 42. South southeast wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
  • Sunday Night: Rain likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 38. Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
  • Monday: Rain likely. Cloudy, with a high near 46. South southwest wind 6 to 11 mph increasing to 12 to 17 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
  • Monday Night: A 40 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 40. South southwest wind 9 to 16 mph.
  • Tuesday: Rain. High near 47. Chance of precipitation is 90%.
  • Tuesday Night: Rain likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 40. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
  • Wednesday: Rain likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 48.
  • Wednesday Night: Rain likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 41.
  • Thursday: Rain likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 47.
  • Thursday Night: Rain likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 39.
