Cool, collectible t-shirts for the locally-made film “The Maury Island Incident ” will be on sale at The Waterland Blog’s booth at the opening day of the Des Moines Farmers Market, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 7.
Cost is $20 per shirt, and checks, credit cards and even that thing once called “cash” will be accepted.
“These high-quality black t-shirts are not only cool, but they’re very collectible,” said Director/Producer Scott Schaefer, who will also be on hand Saturday. “Plus, all proceeds go directly into our marketing fund, which allows us to enter more film festivals.”
“The Maury Island Incident” is a 30-minute film based on declassified FBI documents about an historic UFO and original “Man In Black” encounter during the summer of 1947. It was filmed last summer, and on the day it was shot on a tugboat off Maury Island, the crew was based out of the marina nearby.
Its world premiere was at the Big Island Film Festival on May 22, and its North American premiere was at the Seattle International Film Festival on May 25.
Previously, these t-shirts have only been available at special events related to the film.
The Des Moines Farmers Market is located in the north end of the Marina, at 22307 Dock Ave South.
