Odd Fellows Hall will serve as a cooling center during Waterland Festival

With temperatures forecast to be in the 80s during the upcoming Waterland Festival Weekend, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Des Moines Lodge #305, is going to have an air-conditioned cooling center open for all who need or want to get relief from the sun and heat.

The Odd Fellows Hall is the large white building located on the corner of S. 225th St and 7th Ave S. in downtown Des Moines. The newly remodeled and updated Hall is a popular meeting space and is available for rent for many types of events.

The Cooling Center will be open from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Refreshments will also be available for purchase during these hours.

The IOOF is very proud that this year’s Grand Parade’s Grand Marshal – Jim Langston – is a very active current member and past Noble Grand of the Des Moines Odd

Always nice to hear of an upgrade to a Des Moines facility and its availability for rent. by the public. Either I’ve been looking in the wrong places or this organization has been almost invisible in publicity. I hope this changes.
