Mt. Rainier High School put into lockdown, evacuated Friday morning

A phone call bomb threat put Mt. Rainier High School into lockdown mode Friday morning, Feb. 27, according to Sgt. Doug Jenkins of the Des Moines Police Department.

“At 8 a.m. police received a phone call saying that there was a bomb at Mt. Rainier High School,” Jenkins told The Waterland Blog. “We contacted staff, evacuated the school, and police have been sweeping the school.”

It is unknown if this incident is related to a bomb threat received at Highline High School Friday morning as well; read about that here [1].
