Did you catch the new band with Tony Serzo? Talk about a wide range of different music styles. Hope they liked our market and want to come back. The last Clutter to Cash event was a little sparse as some sellers canceled at the last minute. There has been enough interest that we will bring it back again next season. This Saturday is the only chance this year to dispose of your old medications and your old documents safely – Got Drugs & Shred-it. Residents can bring up two full file boxes of records. It will be first come first served. Once the truck is full, the event will end. This is a FREE event. Just drive thru the horse shoe lot in front of the marina office. Ambient ZebraVendor Profile: Stop by the Ambient Zebra booth and say hello to long time market vendor owner, Mara Marlow. She has been selling jewelry since 2004 but has been making “stuff” from the day she could hold scissors. She makes and designs everything she sells in a wide variety of styles including steampunk, vintage, contemporary, ethnic, and (sometimes strange). You might also run into to her slave, Jeff, hanging around trying to look busy. Screen Shot 2015-09-17 at 7.02.02 AMOur Healthy Eating Initiative is really catching on. We had 6 new seniors sign up last Saturday. The program issues weekly free $10 vouchers for qualifying seniors. This program is brought to you by partners, the Des Moines Farmers Market and King Conservation District. The vouchers are good for fruits, vegetables and processed food products (bakery items, etc). If you know someone who may qualify, please have them come to the information booth to sign up. Spaces are starting to fill up for our annual Chili Cook-Off. If you think you have the best chili recipe around, pick up an application at the information booth or go online to download the application. There is room for only 10 teams this year, so get in gear! Also, don’t forget HYDE Shuttle is providing local door to door transportation to the market for seniors 55 and older and people with disabilities of all ages living in Des Moines, Normandy Park, Burien and this year Sea-Tac. For a ride call 206-727-6262. Upcoming Events:
