Thieves smash into Freedom Snacks, break gumball machine, steal candy

Freedom Snacks, located at 709 S. 219th Street in Des Moines, was the victim of early (and evil) Trick-or-Treaters, as it was broken into and vandalized overnight (Tuesday/Wednesday, Oct. 20-21).

The Des Moines Police Department reports that glass on the front door was smashed, and a vintage gumball machine was broken and thrown in the middle of 219th Street.

“Looks like all they got away with was some candy, but we still had to pay for a new front door glass, so that’s a bummer,” Owner Veronica Cockerham told The Waterland Blog. “Thanks to Victory Glass! They came out super fast and were friendly to deal with!”

Des Moines Police Deputies dusted the gumball machine for prints, and are going to investigate.

Stupid low life idoits that do such things. “An empty-head thinks mischief is fun, but a mindful person relishes wisdom.”
