Help Special Olympics at Des Moines Police Department’s ‘Tip A Cop’ Oct. 22

Mark your calendars – the Des Moines Police Department will be partnering with Normandy Park, Washington Police & Des Moines Red Robin for its Annual ‘Tip A Cop’ event benefitting Special Olympics of Washington on Saturday, Oct. 22, from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., and 4 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Department staff as well as other “Celebrity” servers will be assisting wait staff and all “Tips” received in specially marked envelops will be donated to Special Olympics of Washington to ensure that a young person in our community with disabilities is able to compete.

Des Moines Police Foundation will be sponsoring a jail and bail event during Tip a Cop this year, in which guests can choose to make a $20 donation to have a member of their table “Arrested” for a number of different offenses such as eating too many french fries, or not cleaning their bedroom. The list is endless. We will have a special jail cell setup so that those arrested can have their mug shot taken and for a $5 donation instant photos will be available as well.

Red Robin is located at 22705 Marine View Drive S.:
