Hey B-Town Readers!

So, my family and I have been pretty busy lately. So on Tuesday, November 15th I was hurting pretty bad. So my mom checked my back and she found what we thought was a pressure sore. The next day we went to the ER at Seattle Children’s and we found out that my primary Orthopedics surgeon was out of the country. So we started me on IV antibiotics and drained some fluid from the ‘pressure sore’. They then found out that the ‘pressure sore’ was actually an infection. They wanted to do exploratory surgery, but my mom wouldn’t let anyone do anything until my primary surgeon got back into the country and took a look at my case. So they sent me home on oral antibiotics.

On Monday November 21st, my surgeon called my mom and said it did look like an infection and we wanted to make sure that it didn’t spread to or start in my hardware. So we scheduled a surgery for that Wednesday the 23rd. They expected that I would be in the hospital for at least four to five days.

I went in for a CT scan first at 9 am on Wednesday and then I had surgery. They got in there and realized that it was just a contamination of the skin! It was way better then they expected. They wanted to keep me a couple of days for observation, but other then that all I would have to do was just take antibiotics for a month. I’ve recovered fast because they barely had to cut. Although I still am hurting a little. I had to stay about two days in the hospital, and we had to have Thanksgiving there. But we made the best of it.

So now that I’ve been telling you guys about what’s been going on in my life: It’s December which means that it’s the season of giving not receiving. So I’m challenging all of you to a thing I like to call Cass’ Holiday Challenge. Starting today, I’m going to be doing one Random Act Of Kindness every day for someone. And I want all of you to participate! It can be as simple as smiling at someone or picking something up when someone drops something. When you guys do something for someone else, you can put it in the comments of my blog, or tweet me (Twitter: @Cass_Huff) or tag me on Instagram (cass_huff2) using the #Cass’HolidayChallenge.

I hope you guys get into the holiday spirit and I’m so excited to see all of the kindness that you guys spread!

Okay well have fun! See ya next time!

Over and out!

– Cass
