The Des Moines Legacy Foundation and renowned Artist George C Scott are collaborating to create a new sculpture – “Kaleidoscope” – funded by the Port of Seattle’s ACE grant program and the Des Moines Legacy Foundation.

As part of the process, organizers plan to engage the community – and especially local art students – who are interested in the creative process.

“This will be an extraordinary opportunity to be part of a significant sculpture with an emphasis on environmental education that will be installed on the Des Moines waterfront in the summer of 2019.”

The sculpture was designed by Mr. Scott last spring, and is currently under construction at his studio located on 7th Ave S. in downtown Des Moines.

The public is invited to see the work in progress at Mr. Scott’s studio, located at 22220 7th Ave. S. on Saturday, Oct. 6, between Noon – 4 p.m.
