Police respond to drive-by shooting in Des Moines Thursday morning

Thursday morning, Oct. 11, at 06:14 a.m. Des Moines Police responded to a drive-by shooting in the 2800 block of South 218th Street (map below).

Witnesses reported that five minutes prior, a vehicle pulled up slowly next to the location and started shooting. It is unclear what the subject(s) were shooting at. The reporting party heard approximately 4 gunshots.

Police describe the suspect vehicle as an older gray or gold sedan, which fled towards South 216th Street.

There is no suspect description.

There were no injuries or property damage.

There was evidence located at the scene, and the case is being reviewed by investigations staff.
