6th annual FREE ‘Squid-A-Rama’ will be Saturday, Nov. 10 at MaST Center

The Des Moines Arts Commission and the MaST Center at Redondo will be holding their 6th annual ‘Squid-A-Rama’ on Saturday, Nov. 10.

This is a fun celebration of everyone’s favorite cephalopod – the Squid – returning to Poverty Bay.

The event is from 4 – 7:30 p.m., is FREE to the public and they will have art projects for kids, squid dissection classes, live squid in the aquarium, divers on closed circuit TV releasing the squid, refreshments, and an exhibition of squid centric art by Des Moines students.

Here’s a poster, with artwork by Jennifer Nilo of Pacific Middle School (she won the Golden Squid Award last year for best of show):

The exhibition remains on display until Dec. 8.
