Boater runs out of fuel off Des Moines, South King Fire & Rescue comes to rescue

A boater ran out of fuel while out in Puget Sound between the Des Moines Marina and Three Tree Point Wednesday night, Oct. 17, and South King Fire & Rescue came to the rescue.

SKF&R was first alerted to the distressed boater after they sent up a flare. Rescue workers made contact through the Coast Guard, and the SKF&R’s Marine 67 crew was able to get some fuel out to them.

“Not too exciting, but a good outcome,” said Capt. Jeff Bellinghausen, South King Fire & Rescue Community Affairs Officer.
