Police seeking help finding suspect wanted for Sunday’s fatal shooting


On Sunday, Oct. 28 at about 9:14 p.m., the Des Moines Police Department received a 911 call from a citizen at the shopping complex located at 27061 Pacific Highway South, who had found a dead body.

The 911 call concerned a gunshot victim, who was found lying in the parking lot.

Responding EMS personnel responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

Surveillance video from nearby businesses showed the shooting and the suspect vehicle. The vehicle pictured is described as a 1998-2001 Toyota Camry LE, which is tan or gold in color. The vehicle has dark tinted windows and is missing the front right (passenger side) wheel cover:

    I am hoping that these two pictures are only representing other pictures not shown. If not, then, the business owners and property owners should be scrambling to get enough camera coverage on all sides the strip mall. Winter darkness is coming, get the shoppers protected or close down. Bartell is one of my Go To Stores, love the staff, the services and home like feeling. BUT I will go elsewhere if safety is not met.
