Shredding Event will be at Des Moines Activity Center Thursday, April 18

The City of Des Moines Senior Services Advisory Committee will be hosting a paper shredding event this Thursday, April 18, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Des Moines Activity Center.

This is a perfect event for getting rid of all those boxes, file drawers, and years of old paperwork you don’t want to simply throw in the recycling.

This event is totally secure and if you like, you can stay and watch the papers be shredded right in front of you.

  • Items accepted are: paper (staples ok) such as receipts, invoices, bills, bank statements, cancelled checks, file folders, and envelopes.
  • No cardboard, newspaper, boxes, X-Rays, or plastic.
  • Maximum amount per person is 10 file sized boxes of papers.
  • This event is open to all residents of the City of Des Moines and Normandy Park.

“If you’ve never been to the Des Moines Activity Center, stop by for a visit. If you’re a senior, there are a myriad of events and activities daily and weekly.”

I would like to extend my appreciation to the organizers of this event and to the Waterland blog for promoting it.

I now have a large cleared space under my desk into which I can shift some of the remaining clutter into. I’ve needed to do that for years.
