Donors needed for Blood Drive at Des Moines Farmers Market this Saturday

Donors are needed for a Blood Drive at the Des Moines Waterfront Farmers Market this Saturday, June 29:

ALL TYPES URGENTLY NEEDED!
PLEASE DONATE SATURDAY!

Our daily mission and responsibility is to make sure our local hospitals have the life-saving blood products they need. Additionally, blood centers across the country routinely communicate, so if one area is experiencing a shortage it is supplemented from another area. Right now, there is a national shortage and requests from multiple areas impacted by this shortage have been coming in for both red cells and platelets. We are also anticipating another decrease in donations, during the 4th of July holiday.

This is a community responsibility and a national responsibility. If you are eligible to donate, please do so.  Ask a friend, neighbor or coworker to join you – encourage others, share the need via social media, and challenge those you know.  Life-saving surgeries and treatments are not possible without volunteer donors.

There are 25 appointments still open – please sign up here or through the app!  Walk-ins always welcome!
