Both the Woodmont and the Des Moines Library are hosting Free Comic Book Day events on Saturday, May 3, from Noon – 3 p.m. “Children, Teens and Adults are welcome to stop by the library and pick up a Free Comic book while supplies last,” reads an announcement. The Des Moines Library will also be showing the new Thor movie and the Woodmont Library will have crafts and a raffle. FEEL GOOD FRIDAY: Fuddy-Duddy

This seems to have happened rather suddenly, though I have no big feelings about it, except that I’m glad I made it. (NOT a jinx!!) Through the years, I have changed and not changed. The obvious signs of my trek toward fuddy-duddy-dom include: ear hair, complaining about politics, a strong affinity for a recliner and a marked indifference towards the things I don’t care about. Common Good Benefit Brunch will be Saturday, April 26
The 'Common Good' Brunch will be held Saturday, April 26 at the Des Moines Activity Center, from 8:30 a.m. – Noon. Cost is $10 for Adults, $7.50 for Seniors (62 and over) and $5 for children under 10 (first child with each group will be FREE). Wastemobile coming to Des Moines Marina April 25-27
The Wastemobile is coming to the Des Moines Marina the weekend of April 25-27, offering free household hazardous waste disposal to all King County and city residents. Residents can safely dispose of old car batteries, oil, paint thinner and many other household hazardous items at no cost from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. in the marina parking lot (22307 Dock Street) both days. Residents can drop off household hazardous waste items including pesticides, oil-based paints, automotive products (oil, antifreeze, auto batteries, etc.), fluorescent bulbs/tubes and other items without a charge.
