Sprouters Northwest is a new vendor for the Des Moines Waterfront Farmers Market, and features fresh organic sprouts and other grasses and greens. The farm is located in the Kent valley and has been in business of growing fresh spouts for the past 30 years. Other than being at the Des Moines Farmers Market, they serve wholesale companies across the Northwest. Here is a sampling of sprouts you can find throughout the market season: alfalfa, clover, deli, spicy, onion, 3 bean munchies, bean and broccoli sandwich sprouts. You can also find sunflower, pea and radish shoots, micro greens (cress, basil) and a variety of grasses like wheat (some say a cat’s favorite treat). “Our mission statement really says what we are all about,” said Lindsey Spurgeon, sales & marketing manager. “It simply says: ‘To provide our customers and the public with the freshest, healthiest and best tasting sprouts available. We pride ourselves in the quality of our product while strictly adhering to all local, state and federal regulations and guidelines.'” To request more information please email [email protected]. While shopping at the market this Saturday, be sure to stop in and say hi to Lauren (on the left) and Rebecca: Look for their booth every Saturday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the market’s new location in the North Marina.]]>
