Friday night (May 24) at around 8 p.m., the Des Moines Police called BJ Bjorneby to tell him that another car had gone thru the guardrail and onto its roof at his place of business (read about a previous one here). “It sounds like the Port Police tried to pull over a car for a burned-out headlamp and the car fled at high speed The Port officer told me they ceased the chase when the car sped away,” BJ told The Waterland Blog. Moments later police were called to the scene after the vehicle crashed over the bank, landed on the roof of an Access bus in the lot and fell squeezed between the bus and a cement block wall on its roof. A Pete’s Towing employee told BJ that he looked up and saw a car going really fast and seconds later heard the crash and knew another car had gone over the wall. The occupant or occupants escaped climbing over the barbed wire fence, leaving some clothing hanging on the fence (see final photo). “I don’t know if the Police found the driver or not,” he added. “The car was a late model 7 series BMW sedan.” Here are photos BJ sent us (click images to see larger versions): photo 2 photo 3 photo 4   photo 4 photo 1 photo 3]]>

  1. I bet the owner of that vehicle was NOT the one driving it. The shirt dangling on the fence is hilarious! And we’ll never know unless someone spills the beans to the police.

  3. Seems to me they picked the perfect location for their body shop. Wrecked cars just keep showing up at their doorstep!
