That’s according to the new owner of Advertiser ‘Normandy Perk,’ Brandi Messer.
“The local support has been incredible, and we are so pleased to be able to provide hometown coffee to the residents of the Normandy Park, Des Moines and Burien areas,” Messer went on to say.
Normandy Perk has been open since late March of this year in the former ‘Oh Chocolate’ location in the Normandy Park Towne Center with a dedicated staff of Messer and her five baristas.
“Normandy Perk’s goal is to not only serve the community with day changing coffee and talented baristas, but super serve the community by being a welcoming destination for our neighbors and small groups to enjoy themselves. Poetry slams and local vocals will soon commence, and featured art from local artists is now on display and for sale inside Normandy Perk.”
Messer went on to say:
“There are many great coffee places in the region, both independent and corporate. So a question we asked ourselves when deciding to start Normandy Perk is, what is it that we will do differently? It starts with the beans and how we brew them. Several months ago we began the search at Seattle’s Coffee Fest for the perfect roaster. We sampled over 70! After many sleepless nights (because of all of the caffeine), we chose the highly regarded Venia Coffee Roasters out of Bothell.”
Normandy Perk’s coffee beans are direct trade from Ethiopia, Brazil, Columbia, Sumatra and Guatemala. The beans from the best coffee growing earth on the planet are roasted to perfection by Venia’s Master Roaster Keith Eckert and delivered fresh to Normandy Perk weekly.
From there, the baristas at Normandy Perk follow a rigid standard for hand crafting each drink to perfection from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week.
Also on the menu is light fare, including muffins, biscotti and pretzel sandwiches available in the shop or via the drive through.
Normandy Perk will be hosting a Grand Opening/Ribbon Cutting celebration on Saturday May 17 from 3-‐6 p.m. This event will feature half off all drinks and many great deals from the other merchants of Normandy Park Towne Center.
