DMFM-Poster-2016-2 Last Saturday just before closing time, dark storm clouds came at us at record speeds and people were scrambling back to their cars before the downpour hit. We were fortunate that there was no lighting! Hopefully this coming Saturday at the Des Moines Waterfront Farmers Market it will be a little calmer for our first of the season Clutter 2 Cash sale. It’s a chance for shoppers to pick up some great items at bargain prices. Look for the sale in the horseshoe parking lot in front of the Marina office. There still are a few spaces left. If you feel the urge to raise some extra cash, call this number 206-824-1066 to reserve your space. The cost is $20.The next sale will be July 23rd. You are in for a treat if you experience all the wonderful baked goodies from Lori Fife, owner of Schuller’s Bakery. Lori has a vast background of cooking knowledge, including a Culinary Arts Degree from the Western Culinary Institute (Cordon Bleu). After school she worked at several Northwest restaurants and to hone her skill set, she took a six month sabbatical touring in Europe. She has spent a lifetime refining her culinary skills and perfecting her recipes. Stop by and say welcome and of course, indulge. Schullers Don’t forget The Des Moines Area Food Bank “Picnic in the Park” free summer lunch program for all school age kids. Look for them from noon to 1pm in the grassy area next to the marina office. And if you can’t wait until noon, they will serve free snacks from 10 to 10:30am.
