The King County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that a man threatened a fellow passenger on a Metro bus recently, showing off an airsoft pistol – which looks like a Glock handgun – in his waistband:
Police say that on Monday, Aug. 24, 2020 at approximately 4:35 p.m., King County Metro deputies were dispatched to the area of Kent Des Moines Road and Pacific Highway South in Des Moines to contact a victim who was threatened on board a Metro bus. Metro contracts with the King County Sheriff’s Office for police services.
The Metro deputy contacted the victim who told him that he and his wife were riding a Metro coach when a male and two of his friends boarded the bus. One of the males sat next to the victim, where he was consuming alcohol and smoking while the bus was in motion.
The victim asked the suspect if he would put out his cigarette as smoking is prohibited on Metro coaches. The suspect cursed at the victim, lifted up his sweater and revealed what appeared to be a black handgun tucked in his waistband. The suspect then told the victim “I will shoot you.”
At this point the victim and his wife walked to the front of the bus to call police. The suspect and his two friends got off the bus. A short time later, a Des Moines police officer spotted someone who matched the description of the person with the suspected gun and detained him.
When KCSO deputies questioned the suspect, he claimed the gun was only an airsoft pistol. The deputy confirmed this, but noted how closely it resembles a Glock handgun. A review of the video on the bus confirmed the victim’s story.
The suspect was arrested and booked into the King County Jail for Felony Harassment.
He should be punished hard at least a few years in jail
