The Highline Schools Foundation this week opened its 2021 Scholarship Awards process for graduating seniors from all high schools in Highline Public Schools, and Awards will be made in late April 2021.

Scholarships are made possible by gifts made to the Foundation. Each donor helps to set the criteria for which students will be selected for the scholarship they fund. The one common factor to all Highline Schools Foundation scholarships is need. All scholarship applications are screened for need based on the Washington State DSHS Median Income Chart.

Scholarships range from a $1,000 one-time scholarship to a $24,000 scholarship paid out at $6,000 per year for four years. All scholarships are paid directly to the educational institution and can be used for tuition, on-campus housing, books, and fees.

Students are considered for all Foundation scholarships by filling out one application. The application is now available and is due by March 31, 2021. The application is available on the Foundation’s website at: https://highlineschoolsfoundation.org/scholarships/.

“One of our favorite processes each year is the awarding of scholarships to graduating seniors,” said Anne Baunach, Highline Schools Foundation’s Interim Executive Director. “This past year, we were able to award more than $200,000 in scholarships to deserving seniors to ensure that they were able to access post-secondary education.”
