DESCRIPTION:Due to the COVID-19 pandemic\, the city’s annual\, physical Waterland Parade was unfortunately canceled\, and for the first time in 60 years a ‘Virtual’ one will be presented online this Saturday\, July 18\, 2020. \nThe virtual parade – brought to you by Destination Des Moines and the Rotary Club of Des Moines & Normandy Park – will begin at 6 p.m. sharp\, and will feature video entries from community members\, organizations\, local businesses and more. \nHere’s how you can watch: \n\n\n\nCome back to The Waterland Blog website at 6 p.m. and look for the parade post – the video will be embedded within.\nView it on our Facebook page here – we’re holding a Premiere Party that starts at 5:59 p.m. (a full minute early!).\nIt will also be viewable on facebook.com/destinationdesmoines.\nXfinity Cable TV Channel 21 (in Des Moines only).\n\n\n\nResidents were invited to send in videos or photos in to volunteer organizers\, who edited the entries together into a 2-hour virtual extravaganza. \nHere’s more from our friends at Destination Des Moines: \n“Thank you to all of our sponsors and volunteers.
