DESCRIPTION:Residents looking to safely dispose of personal documents will have the opportunity to do so at a Community Shredding Event on Wednesday\, April 23\, 2025\, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Des Moines Activity Center (map below). \n\nThe event is hosted by the Des Moines/Normandy Park Senior Advisory Committee and is free and open to all Des Moines residents. \nParticipants can bring up to 10 file-sized boxes of paper for shredding. \nAccepted Items Include:\n\n✅ File folders\n✅ Envelopes\n✅ Paper (staples allowed\n\n(Examples: receipts\, bills\, bank statements\, canceled checks) \nItems NOT Accepted:\n\n❌ Cardboard\n❌ Newspaper\n❌ Boxes\n❌ X-rays\n❌ Plastics\n\nThe event aims to help residents securely dispose of sensitive documents while promoting identity theft prevention. \nFor more details\, contact the Des Moines Activity Center at (206) 878-1642.
