SUMMARY:Local amateur radio operators annual Field Day in Normandy Park will be Saturday\, June 28
DESCRIPTION:The Highline Amateur Radio Club (HARC) will demonstrate how radio volunteers support emergency response efforts during the annual ARRL Field Day on Saturday\, June 28\, 2025\, from Noon to 7 p.m. at Marvista Park in Normandy Park (map below). \nField Day is a free\, nationwide event sponsored by the American Radio Relay League (ARRL)\, designed to test emergency preparedness and raise public awareness about the capabilities of amateur radio. \nHARC supports emergency communications for Burien\, Des Moines\, Normandy Park\, SeaTac and unincorporated North Highline. \nThe event will feature three high-frequency (HF) stations capable of national communication and one station using higher frequencies for local coverage. One HF station will be set aside for “Get on the Air” activities\, where visitors can work alongside club members to make radio contact with other stations across the country. \n“This is an aspect of your city’s Emergency Communication system\,” the club announced in its invitation. “You will get the opportunity to observe what your EMCOMM (Emergency Communications) volunteers do.” \nThis year’s theme is “RADIO CONNECTS\,” highlighting how wireless technology bridges communities and supports public safety efforts in times of disaster. \n\nThe event is free and open to all\, with free parking and ADA accessibility. \nVisitors are encouraged to stop by\, learn about emergency communications\, and try making a contact over the airwaves. \nFor more information\, visit www.arrl.org/field-day or contact event coordinator Gerrie Kellogg (KI7EIV) at (206) 334-1611 or KI7EIV@gmail.com.
