DESCRIPTION:From our friends at WABI Burien: \nThe Des Moines Waterland Walkers January walk will be along part of the Green River Trail\, on Saturday\, Jan. 24\, 2026.  \nWe’ll meet a few minutes before 10 a.m. at the Three Friends Fishing Hole in Kent (map below). Please note the earlier start time. We’ve had several requests to start earlier\, so we’re going to give it a try. \nThe best way to get directions is just to enter Three Friends Fishing Hole in your Google search. There is a parking lot with room for about 30 cars and we’ve never seen it full. There are seasonal bathrooms at this location which are usually closed in the winter\, and there are also bathrooms at our turnaround destination. We’ll walk south along the trail to Van Doren’s Landing Park\, which is a nice park with bathrooms\, a play area and picnic tables. The trail is wide\, paved and almost completely flat. It’s used by walkers and bicycle riders but never seems to be extremely busy. \nThe distance from Three Friends Fishing Hole to Van Doren’s Landing Park is about 1.6 miles\, so the total distance for the walk is about 3.2 miles. It’s an out and back walk\, so walkers are welcome to turn around at any point if they don’t want to walk the full distance. All walkers and well-behaved four-legged friends are welcome.
