DESCRIPTION:South King Fire will host a 9/11 remembrance ceremony Friday\, Sept. 11\, marking 25 years since the terrorist attacks that killed 2\,977 people\, including hundreds of first responders. \nThe ceremony is scheduled for 1 p.m. at South King Fire Station 64 (map below)\, according to information from South King Fire\, Federal Way Fire and the Des Moines Police Department. \nThe event will honor the 343 firefighters\, 71 law enforcement officers and 55 military personnel who died in the attacks\, organizers said. \nCommunity members\, families\, firefighters\, staff and local leaders are invited to attend. Guest speakers listed for the ceremony include: \n\nDes Moines Police Chief Ted Boe\nSouth King Fire Chief Woodey\nFederal Way Police Chief Andy Hwang\n\nThe ceremony is intended to remember the lives lost on Sept. 11\, 2001\, and recognize the service of first responders. \n“We will never forget\,” the event flyer says. \n\nSouth King Fire Station 64 is located at 3700 SW 320th Street in Federal Way.
