DESCRIPTION:SPONSORED: \nNorthwest Symphony Orchestra (NWSO) will open its 2026–2027 season and 40th anniversary year with a family concert Saturday\, Oct. 10\, at the Highline Performing Arts Center in Burien. \nThe concert\, “Family Concert: Sounds of the American West\,” will run from 7:30 – 9 p.m.\, and be led by Anthony Spain\, Music Director. \nThe program will include: \n\n“Philharmonic Fanfare” by Gina Gillie\n“Cascadiana” by Scott Henderson with visuals of the Cascade Mountains\n“Four Dance Episodes from Rodeo” by Aaron Copland\n“Cowboys Suite” by Brent Irwin\n“Festival Rondo” by Richard Meyers\n“A Pioneers Tale” by Alan Lee Silva\n\nThe concert also will feature “Sketches from the Northwest” by student composer Nina Loric.
