DESCRIPTION:The Des Moines Waterfront Farmers Market will open its 21st season in June with a new layout and parking changes due to ongoing construction at the marina. \nThe nonprofit market will operate Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. starting June 6 in the north parking lot\, using the west half of the lot while allowing parking to continue in the remaining spaces. \nThe temporary shift comes as Marina Steps construction impacts the usual footprint. \nMarket organizers said updated traffic flow will be in place this season\, with signage\, cones and volunteers helping guide visitors. A map released by the market outlines the revised layout and vehicle circulation. \n\n\n\nAdditional changes include a restriction on overnight parking in the west half of the north lot on Fridays from June through September. Organizers said additional parking will be available near the Quarterdeck and in the south parking lot. \nA shuttle service will run from the south parking lot throughout the season to help improve access\, according to the market. \n“We truly appreciate your support as we roll out this new layout and navigate the season ahead\,” organizers said in a statement. “Opening day may come with a few adjustments\, but we’re excited to take it on together. The Bash blends UFO history\, themed cosplay\, and comedy into a celebration inspired by the 1947 Maury Island Incident\, the origin story behind modern Men in Black mythology. \nHeld on the shores of Puget Sound in the shadow of Maury Island\, the Bash invites guests to arrive in full cosplay\, as Men in Black agents\, alien visitors\, or Rafferty-style abductees. The night blends historical inspiration with playful\, community-driven energy. \nThe evening typically features a mix of comedy\, music\, and storytelling\, along with signature MIBBB traditions and surprises.
