A 2-year-old girl is in stable condition after being accidentally shot in the neck by her 3-year-old sibling Saturday evening, according to Des Moines Police.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting at approximately 6:30 p.m. in the 22800 block of Pacific Highway South (map below).
Investigators said the children’s mother was in another room when the incident occurred.
The injured toddler was transported to Harborview Medical Center, where she is receiving treatment and is currently listed in stable condition, authorities said.
Detectives have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
No arrests have been made at this time.
