MaST Center’s annual Squid-A-Rama will be Saturday, Nov. 29

The MaST Center will host its annual Squid-A-Rama on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025, offering a free, family-friendly look at marine life in Puget Sound, according to event organizers.

The event will feature ocean-themed story times with the King County Library System at 11 a.m., Noon and 1 p.m.

Squid dissections are scheduled for 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m., and a program titled Memoir of Mollusks presented by Tagal Oceanic will begin at 5 p.m.

Live squid can be viewed from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Organizers said space is limited and registration is required for squid dissections and the Memoir of Mollusks program.

Entry to the event is free.

Squid-A-Rama will take place at the MaST Center Aquarium on the Des Moines waterfront in Redondo (map below) and is open to all ages.
