REMINDER: Residents interested in helping organize one of Des Moines’ signature summer traditions are invited to attend a volunteer information night hosted by the new Waterland Parade Committee this Tuesday night, Mar. 10.
The open house style event will run from 5 to 7 p.m. at Harper Studios, located at 605 S. 223rd Street in Des Moines (map below).
Organizers say the gathering is designed for community members who are interested in volunteering with the Waterland Parade on Saturday, July 18, 2026, part of the city’s annual Waterland Festival celebration.
As we previously reported, this year’s parade will be organized by a new group that is taking over from Destination Des Moines.
The event will allow prospective volunteers to learn more about how they can help with parade planning and coordination ahead of this year’s festival.
Attendees can stop by at any time during the two-hour window.
Residents who cannot attend but want more information about volunteering can contact organizers by email at info@WaterlandFestival.org.
