A 28-year-old motorcyclist was killed late Friday night, April 17, after a crash involving another vehicle in Des Moines, according to the Des Moines Police Department.
Deputies responded at about 11:20 p.m. on April 18 to the 22500 block of 7th Ave South (map below) for a report of a motorcycle down with the rider in the roadway.
When officers arrived, they found the rider unconscious and without a pulse. Deputies immediately began CPR until medics arrived.
Despite lifesaving efforts, sadly, the rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators determined the motorcycle had struck another vehicle that remained at the scene. The driver of that vehicle was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and later booked into the King County Jail.
The King County Major Accident Response and Reconstruction team responded to assist with processing the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
