Marina Steps, water line work to close Des Moines roadway for five days from July 27–31

A temporary road closure is planned July 27 through July 31 near Cliff Avenue South and South 223rd Street (map below) for construction and utility work, according to the city of Des Moines.

The closure will affect the area between 6th Ave South and 5th Ave South from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, city officials said.

The closure is needed for Marina Steps construction and Highline Water District water line work, according to the city.

Pedestrian access and local access will be maintained with assistance from traffic control spotters. Drivers are asked to use alternate routes shown on the city’s detour map.
