Frank S. Land No. 313, with support from Des Moines Lodge No. 245, recently hosted its annual BBQ and Donation Drive to support local first responders serving South King County communities.

Organizers said supporters donated more than 500 small and medium-sized teddy bears and stuffed animals during this year’s event.

“These gifts will be given to children whom first responders encounter during crisis situations, or simply as a kind gesture to bring comfort, a smile, and a little happiness to a child’s day,” organizers said.

The annual event is a tradition Frank S. Land No. 313 said it continues each year to recognize and thank the men and women who serve the community.

“We would like to sincerely thank everyone who contributed to making this event such a success,” organizers said. “We look forward to another fantastic event next summer and hope to raise even more donations to support our local first responders and the children they serve.”
