Mount Rainier High School’s varsity football Rams scored six unanswered points in the fourth quarter to rally past the Auburn Riverside Ravens 18-16 Thursday night, Sept. 24, at Highline Memorial Stadium.
The Rams entered the final quarter trailing 16-12 before coming back and scoring the only six points of the period to secure the 4A North Puget Sound League victory.
Mount Rainier improved to 3-1, while Auburn Riverside fell to 2-2.
The Ravens opened the scoring with two points from a safety in the first quarter and carried a 10-6 lead into halftime. Both teams scored six points in the third quarter, leaving the Ravens ahead by four entering the final period.
The Rams held Auburn Riverside scoreless in the fourth quarter while producing the points needed to complete the thrilling comeback.
