Veterans across South King County are invited to connect, collaborate and share ideas at a new series of weekly meetups hosted by Burien American Legion Post #134.

The “Vets Café” gatherings offer free coffee and a chance for veterans to meet others interested in community service, event planning and outreach efforts, according to the organization.

“Are you a veteran interested in meeting and working with other vets? Drop by the Starbucks for free coffee (latte, macchiato, etc.) and a chance to meet other veterans interested in serving the community,” organizers said.

The meetups will be held Thursdays at 11 a.m., with an additional session on Saturdays at 11 a.m., rotating weekly between Starbucks locations in Burien, White Center, Normandy Park and Des Moines. Participants are encouraged to call (206) 243-3968 to confirm the location each week.

Organizers say the informal gatherings are designed to help veterans connect over shared interests while exploring opportunities to contribute to community efforts, including America250 celebrations, school and youth outreach programs and recognition of first responders.

The events are hosted by American Legion Post 134 in Burien, with space provided by Starbucks.
