The community recently received a preview of the new Pacific Middle School’s interior design, set to open in fall 2027.

During student-led conferences on Nov. 26, 2024, staff from Highline Public Schools’ Capital Planning & Construction team, alongside architects from Hutteball + Oremus Architecture, showcased detailed design boards and a virtual aerial view of the new building’s exterior.

The new design features a three-story classroom wing facing South 227th Place, with the main entrance oriented toward 24th Ave South. The layout aims to enhance student experience and community engagement.

Construction is slated to begin in September 2025, with students attending classes at the Olympic Interim Site in Des Moines during the two-year building phase.

The interim site has previously accommodated students from Highline and Tyee high schools during their respective construction periods.

The project is part of the voter-approved 2022 school bond, reflecting the community’s commitment to modernizing educational facilities.

The new Pacific Middle School is scheduled to open its doors to students in September, 2027.
