The Rotary of Des Moines and Normandy Park would like to take a moment to say “THANK YOU!” to the thousands of people who have supported their annual fundraiser, the Poverty Bay Blues & Brews Fest…Rain or Shine.
“Together, we’ve raised $800,000 over these past 15 years, because of your die-hard support, regardless of the weather,” Rotarians said. “THANK YOU! 100% of the net funds we raise go to incredible causes like Highline Music4 Life and the Des Moines Area Food Bank.”
Umbrellas Allowed this Saturday
Organizer are also pleased to report that they WILL NOW ALLOW (personal) UMBRELLAS at this Saturday’s event (Aug. 24, 2024, from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.), and say “we can’t wait to dodge a few raindrops with you.”
Over the years, some of the most epic Blues & Brews performances have happened in the rain, and if rain happens, Rotarians still aim to have fun with those who support these causes, along with serious blues lovers, and those who love to support local brewers.
“In this neck of the woods, if we waited for the rain to stop before we did something fun, we wouldn’t have too much fun,” Rotarians added. “So we invite you to dawn your rain jackets, find an umbrella, and get ready to ‘Drink To Music!'”
