Get ready for a spooktacular Halloween as the Destination Des Moines Waterland Trick-or-Treat Path returns to downtown on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2024, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The event promises to bring family-friendly Halloween excitement to Marine View Drive South, which will be transformed into a festive Trick-or-Treat path between 216th and 227th Streets.
Local businesses, groups, and clubs are being invited to set up booths and join in the festivities.
“We’re thrilled to invite the community to this year’s Waterland Trick-or-Treat Path,” Destination Des Moines said. “It’s always a fun-filled event where the entire community comes together to create a memorable Halloween experience for our little witches and wizards.”
How to Participate
Businesses located along the event route need only notify Destination Des Moines to confirm their involvement.
“No application is needed if you’re on Marine View Drive,” said the spokesperson. “Just shoot us an email (to info@destinationdesmoines.org), and we’ll add you to the list.”
- Businesses on MVD: If your business is located along the event path, no application is needed! Just send us an email at info@destinationdesmoines.org to let us know you’ll be participating.
- Other Businesses, Groups, and Clubs: We’d love to have you join in the fun! Set up a booth and hand out treats along the Trick-or-Treat path. Please fill out our Google Form: Halloween Treat Station to confirm your participation and receive event details.
- Businesses with Larger Parking Lots on MVD: If you have extra parking spaces, we’d love to reserve a few for Trick-or-Treat stations! Let us know by reaching out to us via email.
Volunteers Needed
The event organizers are also looking for Volunteers to help ensure the safety of trick-or-treaters along the path, particularly at crossing areas.
“We’re asking for volunteers to help keep the event safe and enjoyable for all,” organizers said. Volunteers can sign up using the link to the Google Form.
