Des Moines Police responded to reports of a fight and gunfire at the Redondo Boat Launch late Wednesday night, June 19, 2024, resulting in one victim sustaining non-life-threatening injuries and the suspect being taken into custody.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:22 p.m., when multiple 911 calls reported a disturbance involving several individuals and gunshots at the Redondo Boat Launch. Upon arrival, officers found the scene deserted as all participants had fled.
Shortly after, officers were informed that a victim with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound had arrived at a local hospital. In a related development, a vehicle matching the suspect’s description was involved in a collision in Federal Way. Officers responded to the collision scene, apprehended the suspect, and recovered a firearm.
