The Des Moines Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating 67-year-old Dale Christophersen, who was last seen kayaking from the Des Moines Marina on the evening of Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024.
Christophersen, described as 6 feet tall and weighing 250 pounds, was last seen wearing a long-sleeve shirt over a gray t-shirt, shorts, and a baseball cap.
He was not wearing a life preserver.
The following morning, Christophersen’s kayak was found at Redondo Park’s fishing pier, but there has been no sign of the missing man since.
Authorities are concerned for his safety and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
Des Moines Police have released a photo of Christophersen from 2016 and are continuing their search efforts. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Des Moines Police Department at (206) 878-3301 or call 911 immediately.
