Bettina Carey, a proud resident of Des Moines, is making waves in Carla Hall’s nationwide Favorite Chef Competition.
Currently in second place, Bettina needs to secure the top spot by 6:59 p.m. PDT tonight (Thursday, June 27, 2024) to advance to the quarter-finals.
A seasoned chef known for her creativity and passion for culinary arts, Bettina brings a unique blend of artistry and flavor to her dishes. Her culinary journey has been inspired by her travels, family traditions, and a deep love for cooking.
Winning this competition would not only grant Bettina the $25,000 prize but also support the James Beard Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to celebrating, supporting, and elevating the people behind America’s food culture.
Bettina plans to use a portion of her winnings to support her organization, We EmPOWER Africa, which provides resources, education, and opportunities to build sustainable businesses and improve lives across the continent.
